Marketing doesn't have to be hard, expensive, or confusing. One principle changes everything. It wasn’t voiced by a Marketer. It was spoken by Organizational Expert Peter Drucker.

Here’s the Principle:

The aim of marketing is to know the customer so well the product or service fits him and sells itself.

Peter Drucker

If marketing seems hard or expensive or not worth it then this is the first thing to look at… how well does the product or service fit your prospects?

The relationship to the “Fit” and the “Cost to Acquire a Customer” is inversely proportional. The worse the Fit the more you spend convincing them it IS worth it to them.

Think of it this way… How hard is it to sell a bandage to someone with a bleeding neck? Nothing much more than the price would be needed.

If we start there and work backwards from there everything becomes much simpler, much clearer and you’re advertising will become much more effective.

So, internalize this…

The aim of marketing is to know the customer so well the product or service fits him and sells itself.

Peter Drucker

This is a Fundamental Principle that will help clarify everything else you do in marketing. Make it a LENS that you view everything through.

We’ll be talking about how to actually apply this in the future.

Best,

Jason Bedunah
